For The Beasy “Premium” Transfer Systems

Most Beasy Dealers do not submit to insurance for you. You can call us, and we will give you contact information for the companies we know that will offer this service. Most patients will need to submit it on their own to their insurance.

Because we do not have a HCPC code, submit your claim to your insurance and ask them to use code: E1399, which is a miscellaneous medical equipment code. To some insurance companies, Beasy transfer systems are considered “the Cadillac” of transfer boards, and they may decide that a standard transfer board will do. But, for many people with advanced medical needs, the gliding and rotating seat may make a huge difference in their ability to transfer. When you submit to insurance, have your doctor write in the prescription stating why the Beasy transfer system is needed. Some examples would be:

  • The friction in sliding across a standard transfer board may cause damage to this patient’s easily torn skin. The Beasy transfer system allows the friction to go on the seat, not on the patient’s skin.
  • This patient’s tender bones may be further damaged by using a standard transfer board. A Beasy transfer system allows the weight of the patient to go on the seat, not on their bones.
  • This patient does not have the leg strength to push their body across a standard transfer board. The Beasy transfer system allows the patient to glide across the board without leg strength needed.
  • This patient’s caregiver does not have the strength or ability to pull them across a standard transfer board. The Beasy system would allow the patient’s weight to go on the seat, and would not require a lot of effort from the caregiver.
